SINGLE SKIN ROOF WITHOUT INSULATION

This system is used for Aircraft Hangers, Agricultural Buildings, Domestic Garages, Sheds and canopies.
In conditions of clear night radiation or high humidity (fog) metal or aluminium roof sheets can naturally produce large quantities of condensation which may run down the pitch to the purlins causing the tramline dripping often seen in buildings. Any increased humidity from the use of the building will have an immediate adverse effect.
Solar heat conduction of the building's walls may also have an adverse effect by releasing warmth into the building overnight enabling the air inside to contain a higher level of humidity than would be possible if the building was totally influenced by external conditions.
Taking hot and wet aircraft or cars into these buildings causing rapid evaporation of moisture on them can cause a condition where the condensation formed will immediately return to source taking with it dirt from the roof.
All of these problems can be effectively controlled by an application of Grafo-Therm Anti-condensation Compound covering the whole of the interior surface of the metal or aluminium roof sheet.
Graf-Therm will restrict solar heat gain in summer.
CONCRETE SHELTERS (uninsulated) with or without internal steel lining.

This type of structure is used for Aircraft shelters, Multi-Storey Car Parks, etc.
In our opinion concrete, particularly steel re-inforced concrete used for structural purposes, and likely to be subjected to wetness, should be surface treated externally with a high penetrating, vapour permissible, water repellency treatment such as *Grafo-Lit WR. Under these conditions and providing the interior surface remains untreated, concrete without a steel lining, is unlikely to develop a condensation problem.
When used with a steel lining it is the lining which is likely to promote condensation. Because the steel lining is directly protected by the concrete from the effects of clear night radiation and solar heat gain, the interior surface temperature will be directly influenced by air entering the structure. After a cold night any sharp rise in the level of humidity early the following day could produce large quantities of condensation and probably forming well into a normal daily work period.
Taking hot and wet aircraft into these buildings causing rapid evaporation of moisture on them can cause a condition where the condensation formed will immediately return to source taking with it dirt from the roof.
Grafo-Therm has a highly efficient and proven record at solving all o these problems. It has been used on a steel liner in an unheated hardened aircraft shelter which had serious problems for over three years with 100% success. When used in heated hardened shelters the thermal insulation properties of the material when dry, provides excellent resistance against heat loss.
In all applications Grafo-Therm provides a light grey or white pleasant textured surface giving excellent light reflection.
Grafo-Therm can be easily cleaned if dirty from naturally environmental grime or aircraft exhaust residue.
